Lactones (I; A = -(CH2)2-; R = H, C1-4 satd. or unsatd. alkyl; R1 = OR1; R1 = H or tetrahydropyranyl, C1-3 alkyl or COR"; R" = C1-3 alkyl or phenyl; R2 = -(CH2)m-CH3; m = 3-5), which had hypotensive activity, were prepd. by the reaction of II and tosyl chloride. Thus, 0.15 g (1RS, 2SR, 5RS, 3'SR)(1'E)-2-hydroxy-5-(3'-hydroxy-1'-decenyl)cyclopentanecarboxylic acid, 0.315 g Et3N and 0.16 g tosyl chloride were reacted to give 41 mg I.
