PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head of an ultranarrow track width superior in characteristic, by constituting only the track width constituting part near the gap with the magnetic substance thin film having a high saturation magnetic flux density and by constituting the other part with the magnetic substance having a high magnetic permeability. CONSTITUTION:Metallic film consisting of magnetic substance 16 and 16' having a high saturation magnetic flux density which form a track width part are constituted with the sputtering film consisting of sendust or an amorphous magnetic alloy, and nonmagnetic gap 12 is formed in the butted part between said metallic films 16 and 16'. Metallic films 16 and 16' are connected to core main body parts 11 and 11' consisting of the bulk materials of a high magnetic permeability. The thin film track width part is protected by glasses 13 and 13'. The thickness of metallic films 16 and 16' is equal to the track width. For the purpose of completing the magnetic connection between the metallic magnetic substance part and the bulk part, the area of the section parallel with the gap forming face is reduced gradually toward the tip part of the bulk part. |
