PURPOSE:To make the device highly precise and enable setting thereof even in a narrow place by a constitution wherein illuminating lamps illuminating two end parts of the plate material in the width direction thereof respectively are provided and only each end part in the width direction of the illuminated plate material is caught by one one-dimensional or two-dimensional receiving device. CONSTITUTION:The device is to measure the width dimension and a camber amount of a steel plate in a hot-roll process. The illuminating lamps 2l and 2r illuminating both end parts of the steel plate ST, one unit of TV camera 1 and a two-face mirror body 3 having two mirror surfaces 30l and 30r are provided, and when measurement is conducted, an angle theta formed by two plane mirrors 30l and 30r is set to be an obtuse angle of 180 deg.+2beta. By such a constitution, the TV camera picks up only a required part, not picking up the central part of the steel plate ST and other part unnecessary for measurement of the width dimension, and thereby the precision of measurement can be improved and the device can be set easily even between pressure-roll stands where a space for setting is narrow. |
