<p>Method and apparatus is disclosed for producing expanded plastics articles having an outer skin and a porous core. Plastic melt containing foaming agent is injected into a mold in which gas counter pressure prevails to counter expansion of the melt during the injection. The gas is progressively displaced by the melt. Pockets of trapped gas are relieved of pressure and the gas removed from the mold. The invention improves the production of articles of the above type having a relatively complex shape.</p> |
