ENDLESS LOOP TAPE MAGAZINE

The tape magazine(10) has a hub(14) about which is coiled an endless length of tape(20), the tape being guided between its inmost and outermost wraps to afford engagement of a drive to pull the tape from its inmost wrap past a transducer. The hub is fixed and has a central opening(16). A slot(17) extends axially across its full width and through which the tape from the inmost wrap of the coil(22) can be pulled into the central opening with its edges coplanar with the edges of the inmost wrap. The central opening may receive a drive and transducer. The hub may have a number of axially spaced annular ribs supporting the inmost wrap.
