PURPOSE:To enable high-quality clear images to be formed in any of electrophotographic recording, writing with a water base ink felt-tip marker, recording by a pen plotter, thermal transfer recording, ink jet recording and the like, by causing an ink-receiving layer to comprise a cation-modified product of polyvinyl alcohol, a water-soluble melamine resin and maleic anhydride- isobutylene copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A cation-modified product of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a water- soluble melamine resin and a maleic anhydrideisobutylene copolymer are incorporated in an ink-receiving layer, in a recording material comprising a light transmitting base and the ink-receiving layer provided thereon. The base may be any transparent base. The cation-modified product of PVA is a PVA comprising a cationic group, such as a primary-tertiary amino group and a quaternary ammonium salt group, in a backbone chain or a side chain thereof. The water- soluble melamine resin may be any of ordinary water-soluble melamine resins, and is preferably a methylated methylolmelamine resin converted to an alkyl ether by methanol. |
