<p>PURPOSE:To establish optical transmission cables constituting the joints without failure, by providing the tape layer stuck with glass fiber reinforced plastic tape and metallic tape around the optical transmission fiber bundle and coating the plastic on it. CONSTITUTION:The tape stuck the metallic tape 6 on one side of glass fiber reinforced plastic tape 3 is wound on the optical transmission fiber bundle 2 collecting a plurality of glass optical transmission fibers 1,1... to constitute the tape wound layer by the tape stuck the metallic tape 6 with the glass fiber reinforced plastic tape 3, and on it, the plastic coating 4 like polyethylene is extruded and coated. The coefficient of the thermal expansion of the optical transmission fiber bundle 2 and that of the glass fiber reinforced plastic layer are almost taken equal, allowing to constitute the joint without failure such as projection or recess simply, and the cable capable of preventing from cracking, and with moisture resistance and strong tensile strength can be obtained.</p> |
