<p>PURPOSE:To improve characteristics of response to the sudden change in input signal by discriminating the value of a forecasted error signal and by adding a constant value to a forecasting signal which forecasts the value of the next sampling point when preset discrimination conditions are satisfied. CONSTITUTION:Forecasted error signal Y-P obtained from input signal Y and forecasting signal P is supplied to encoder 3 to obtain encoded signal D. Encoded signal D is sent to quantizer 5 to obtain quantized signal X, which is contrasted with conditions predetermined by discriminating circuit 13 to obtain constant value alpha. Quantized signal X, on the other hand, is passed through delay elements 10 and 11 to obtain reproduced delay signal Z<-2>, which is added by adder 14 to output alpha of discriminating circuit 13. Output Z<-2>' of adder 14 is delayed by one sample at delay element 12 to obtain forecasted signal P. Thus, even if input signal Y varies suddenly, an output signal having superior response characteristics can be obtained.</p> |
