PURPOSE:To obtain the titled static pressure pad with high vibration-proofing effect of a strip and large saving effect of fluid flow rate which comprises providing a pressure receiving plate of which area is wider than that of a square fluid discharge port provided to the surface of a hollow pad body opposing to the strip, near to said discharge port. CONSTITUTION:A fluid discharge port 3 is formed by notching the surface of a hollow box shaped pad body 2 opposing to the strip surface in a width direction at the center of said surface. Adjusting nozzle plates 4A, 4B are fitted freely slidably to this port 3 from both sides. A stationary pressure receiving plate 5 is disposed in the body 2 by leaving a slight clearance from said plate 4. This plate 5 forms a static pressure region formed by the fluid ejected 6 from the port 3 toward the strip between said plate 5 and the strip. If a pair of such static pressure pads 1 are disposed interlaying with the strip after the immersion into, for example, a hot dipping bath, the fluid discharged from the opposing pads 1 is collided against the strip surfaces and is flowed outward along the strip. As a result, static pressure covering a fixed range from both face sides is applied to the strip, whereby the strip is supported on a predetermined line and the vibrations thereof is prevented. |
