PURPOSE:To prepare a toner having superior characteristics of image quality, such as resolution, sharpness, or fog, by adding a polymer obtained by dispersing a substance capable of causing thixotropy into a monomer and polymerizing it. CONSTITUTION:A substance capable of causing thixotropy, such as hydrophilic silica, alumina, aluminum silicate, or titanium oxide is dispersed into one or more kinds of vinyl monomers, such as styrene, and this dispersion is suspension polymerized to give toner grains, thus permitting a toner high in covering power to be obtained at high yield, not accompanied by fine particles and coarse particles like a pulverizing method. |
