PURPOSE:To extract an output signal of good-quality from an image pickup equipment, by varying the transfer driving scanning frequency of an image pickup equipment and the signal amplitude of transfer driving pulses according to a pattern entry region and a pattern no-entry region on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Transfer gate pulses, transfer driving pulses, and reset pulses are applied from driving circuit 21 to CCD-system image sensor 5, and its scanning is driven. Frequency variable circuit 22 controls driving circuit 21 according to the character entry region and the character no-entry region on the form, and the frequency of transfer driving pulses is made low if character entry region signal P1 is applied, and this frequency is made high if character no-entry region signal P2 is applied. The signal amplitude of transfer driving pulses is varied by signals P1 and P2, and such amplitude value is set that uniformity of the output signal output from image sensor 5 becomes the best in the character entry region, and the best amplitude value for transfer is set in the character no-entry region. |
