PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite flat bar of different kinds of metals by press-contacting the soft and hard metallic materials laid one on top of another in such state that the outer surface of endless convexed part of the convexed roll is touched to the sides of endless groove of the grooved roll with a small angle, and by excising the burr. CONSTITUTION:Soft metallic material (e.g.; Al) 1 and hard metallic material (e.g.; stainless steel) 2 are heated to a prescribed temperature and laid one on top of another, after they are cleaned with trichloroethylene and wire brushing. Then these materials 1 and 2 laid one on top of another are supplied to press-contacting device 5 composed of grooved roll 3 and convexed roll 4, and passed through space 8 formed when endless convexed part 7 of roll 4 is fitted to endless groove 6 of roll 3. A plastic deformation is generated on material 1 while it passes through the space and material 1 is pressure welded onto material 2, and thus composite flat bar by compounding different kinds of metals 9 is manufactured. In this case, even when burr 10 is generated by working with >=40% rolling reduction on blank material 1, burr 10 can be removed by cutting it with attached parts of the sides of groove 6 and the outer surface of convexed part 7. |
