PURPOSE:To simplify surroundings of the keyboard, by storing preliminarily contents of plural kinds of code table into memorire of the CPU and by loading table contents corresponding to the kind of the keyboard into the code table to use them. CONSTITUTION:Code table 4 is provided for converting the coordinate code indicated by keyboard and KB to a character code and has the code memory area of capacity components of one KB. Respective one-KB components classified by the kind of keyboards KB are stored in storage areas M1-Mn of CPU1. When the kind of keyboard Kb1 is inputted from this keyboard, it is stored in register 8. CPU1 selects table information corresponding to this kind from storage areas M1- Mn and loads it into code table 41 corresponding to this keyboard. Thus, the coordinate code indicated by keyboard KB is converted to a character code by code table 41, and this code accesses character generator 5 to display the character pattern. |
