PURPOSE:To manufacture compounded thin metallic materials having a prescribed shape in cross-section, by pressure welding a hard and a soft metallic materials supplied through flat rolls in such way that the plastic deformation of soft metallic material in the direction normal to the rolling processing direction is controlled and formed, so that both materials will be pressure welded excellently. CONSTITUTION:Soft metallic material 1 composed of Al band and hard metallic material 2 composed of stainless steel which have been cleaned with trichloroethylene and wire brushing are laid one on top of another, and they are supplied to pressure welding device 4 composed of a pair of flat rolls 3a and 3b. Material 1 is pressure welded on material 2 during the period within which material 1 and material 2 pass through device 4, in such way that the both sides of material 1 are formed to have a prescribed shape by means of constraining plate 5 which controls the plastic deformation of material 1 in the direction normal to the rolling proceeding direction when a prescribed rolling reduction is applied. As the result, the composite flat bar 6 of different kinds of metals having a desired sectional shape is obtained. Material 1 and material 2 are heated to 100-500 deg.C and 100-200 deg.C temperature before they are supplied to device 4. |
