An additional encapsulation of the switch with simultaneous protection against mechanical damage is achieved by the provision of a housing pocket (28) in the switch housing (18), in which pocket the reed contacts (22) are arranged, while the permanent magnet (23) slides along outside the housing pocket (28) directly on the housing wall (29) thereof. <IMAGE>
