PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time for picture data, by reading binary picture data, which is stored in the picture memory, as parallel data for every word constituted with n-number bits and by outputting the number of data ''1''s in each word by the decoder circuit. CONSTITUTION:The video signal output from the picture TV camera for the object to be measured is converted to binary serial data, and addresses of picture memory 4 are assigned with n-number bits of this data as one word. Picture data stored in memory 4 are read successively as parallel data DP' for every word from CPU5 by address signals AD0-AD14 of memory 4, and this data DP' is input to decoder circuit 7 to output width detection data DW indicating the number of data ''1''s in one word. This width detection data DW is applied to CPU5 through data switching circuit 8 to calculate the position, dimensions, and so on of the object to be measured without a program, thus shortening the processing time for picture data. |
