PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductor laser beam having a high output density, by putting a plural number of luminous fluxes having different polarizing surfaces into a biaxial crystal from the position corresponding to the polarizing surface and thus synthesizing the luminous fluxes. CONSTITUTION:For instance, the rectilinear polarized beams of the semiconductor lasers 41, 45 and 51 are made to pass through an optical rotary crystal such as the quartz crystal to give a proper rotation to the polarizing surfaces 42, 46 and 52. The polarized beams are turned into the parallel luminous fluxes through the optical systems 43, 47 and 54 and then put into the crystal from the prescribed positions 44, 48 and 53 corresponding to the polarizing directions 42, 46 and 52 to be synthesized and then to be emitted in the form of a piece of beam 49. The biaxial crystal 50 uses brookite, tridymite and many other transparent crystals. As a result, a semiconductor laser beam can be obtained with a high output density. |
