PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor high in sensitivity and flexibility, by providing a photosensitive layer containing a specified hydrazone compound on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains as an effective component a hydrazone compound represented by the right formula in which Ar is a condensed polycyclic group, such as a naphthalene ring or anthracene ring; a heterocyclic group, such as a furan, thiophene, pyridine, or carbazole ring; or styryl. Embodiments of said photoreceptor are as follows: (A) Photosensitive layer 2 consisting of the hydrazone compound, a sensitizing dye, and a binder resin provided on conductive substrate 1, (B) photosensitive layer 2' made by dispersing charge carrier generating substance 3 into charge transfer medium 4 consisting of the hydrazone compound and a binder resin, formed on conductive substrate 1, etc. |
