PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor retaining its characteristics even after subjected to charging, exposure, development, and erasion of a latent image in repeated times, by laminating a specified azo pigment-containing layer and a specified hydrazone compound-containing layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:Charge generating layer 2 containing azo pigment 3 represented by formula I, i.e., 4',4''-bis[2-hydroxy-3(2,4-dimethylphenylcharbamoyl)-1-naphthylazo]-di styrylbenzene, and charge transfer layer 4 containing a hydrazone compound represented by formula II in which R is methyl, ethyl, methoxy and n is 1 or 2 are laminated on conductive substrate 1. The azo pigment represented by formula I is prepared by azo coupling of the corresponding tetrazonium and naphthol AS-MX, and the hydrazone compound represented by formula II is prepared by condensation of the corresponding hydrazine and benzaldehyde. |
