<p>Alcohol-contg. drink additives contain a grain extract distillate and maltol, i.e. a 3-OH-2-Me-4-pyrone having formula C6H6O3. The additives are used in mixing long drinks, esp. fruit juices. Basic long drink flavour is enhanced without adding an alien taste. Pref. drink additives contain wheat grain alcohol and consist of 43 vol.% wheat alcohol, 30-50 (38-40) times 10 power minus 5 wt.% maltol, 0.18-0.25 vol.% grain extract distillate, balance water to 100%. 5-15 (10)% drink additive can be added to a long drink base, e.g. a fruit juice.</p> |
