Optically magnifying display arrangement - uses laser scanner and optical fibres linking image surface and panel points

A laser (L) scans the image to be presented line-by-line An optical enlarging system projects the image appearing on the image surface onto the display panel. The optical system is formed from a set of optical fibres (L1-L3) that couples corresponding points of the image surface (BF) with the display panel (AT). The distance of the surface (BF) from the panel (AT) is essentially determined merely by the vol. required by the optical fibres to give the desired enlargement. The panel (AT) has a layer (NS) presenting a residual image when optically excited. This layer (W5) is pref. made from a substance converting UV radiation into visible light. The laser (L) is controlled by an illumination level control (HST) and a deflecting stage (ABL) receiving data from an image memory (BSP).
