The base plate, made in a single piece and connected to the support's open end by hinge joints, is incorporated in a support, esp. for bridges laid in position. The hinges (10) provide off-centre connection with the support (1), and the support is supported in a recess-type holder in the base plate (2) via a holding element on the end face. This element can comprise a hemispherical attachment on the centre of the end face, for a recess of complementary shape. This permits rapid, smooth raising of the base plate when the support is swung into the rest position.
