<p>PURPOSE:To form simply liquid droplets having uniform diameters and fitted for an ink-jet recording method and the likd by making electromagnetic force act on electroconductive liquid filled up in a slender pipe. CONSTITUTION:In the inside 103a of a conduit 103 is filled up electroconductive liquid (preferably having specific resistance of 10<-3>-10<-11>OMEGAcm approx.) supplied from a tank 106, and on both sides of the conduit 103 are arranged permagent magnets 101 and 102 in such a manner that a magnetic field B faces in the direction of an arrow shown in the figure (the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the conduit 103). Next, when a switch SW is closed and electric current (i) is applied to the electroconductive liquid between a pair of electrodes 104 and 104 fitted to the inside wall of the conduit 103 in the direction I (the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the conduit 103 and to the magnetic field B), the electroconductive liquid is subjected to a force in the longitudinal direction of the conduit 103 (the direction perpendicular to the abovementioned surfaces B and I) which is in accordance with the Fleming's left-hand rule and is discharged as liquid droplets from the conduit 103. In addition, by changing the value of the current (i), the liquid droplets having optional diameters can be produced easily.</p> |
