Automatic control valve for central heating radiator - has thermostat controlling electromagnetic coil initiating valve closure

The valve incorporates a thermostat set to the max. room temp. and an electromagnetic coil energised upon the max. temp. being reached to block the warm water circulation. The coil causes a conical valve closure element to be moved into the blocking position against a bias spring. This normally holds the closure element in the open position with an integral stop plate abutting the inside face of the cover for the valve housing. Pref. the thermostat uses a bimetallic element and the current is fed to the electromagnetic coil via copper slip rings coupled to the supply line and slip ring contacts connected to respective ends of the coil. The valve is used for improving the economy of a central heating system.
