Fire barrier for tubes passing through partitions - consists of gate-like element slidable in gap between tube ends to cut off flow of working medium

The device prevents spreading of fire from one room into another, the working medium, such as compressed air acting as a carrier. The passage in the partition has a double-skinned frame (4) where plates (8a) and (8b) are fitted at a distance to create chamber (9). The ends of tube (10) terminate inside the chamber (9) and have fixing collars (12). In the gap between the two fixing collars (12) there is a sliding gate element (30). The gate element (30) consists of a plate part (14) carrying a short tube section with collars (32) fitted on each side. In normal operating conditions the gate is positioned to provide a continuous flow of the medium. In case of fire the gate (30) is slid out, whereby the flow of the working medium is interrupted, the chamber (9) forming a dead end.
