<p>Shaped article compsn. binder for achieving a good bulk wt. and strength relation, consists of stabilised water glass and a latex dispersion. Strength is increased by adding organic and/or inorganic fibres. Non-fibrous filler aggregates can be added. In a pref. embodiment, a dispersion of cement and latex is added to a fibre compsn. impregnated with stabilised water glass. Non-flammable cast, pressed or extruded building compsns. are obtd. having reduced bulk wt. and increased heat-insulation. Binder quantity can be reduced by one-third to achieve the same strength. Mixed fibre compsns. can be combined with light aggregates.</p> |
