An outer fireproof door and inner airtight door are provided in an air lock for rooms protected from fire, such as data storage rooms. The outer door (11) contains materials which are non- combustible at high temperatures, and give off condensable vapours. The space (13) between doors has a narrow vapour passage link (27) with the exterior. The inner door (12) has peripheral sealing strips (18,17) on the door frame (20-25) and leaf (19), held together with a sealing effect when this door is closed. The outer door can contain a silicate which gives off steam under heat.
