Grinding corners of moving flat workpiece - by successive independent grinding units moved to first grind leading then trailing corner

The mechanism is intended for grinding the corners (13,16) of a continuously moving flat (e.g. wooden) workpiece (11). It comprises a first grinding unit (14) which grinds a leading corner (13) and an independently operated second grinding unit (15) downstream of the first to grind a trailing corner (16). The units may each be carried on a support (18,19) which supports are slidable in the direction of work transport on common parallel rods (17) by respective cylinder actuators (20,21). Each unit may comprise a motor-driven (40) grind disc (42) vertically movable (62,63) on a column (38,39) which is itself movable on the support in directions parallel to and at right angles to the rods (17).
