A driving switch is for a wheel chair propelled by two electric motors supplied from a battery. The right and left hand wheels are driven forwards and backwards by a control lever with a ball joint. The control lever is joined to a slotted link on the housing so that it can be operated in a full circle. The slotted link is fitted with remote transmitters that indicate the position of the control lever. The slotted link consists of two movable guide elements (18,23) at right angles to each other. Each guide element is fitted with a motor contact (33,34) to drive the motor in the clockwise and anticlockwise directions and for a servo-transmitter (28,30). Control is effected via a servo amplifier. The contacts are spring-loaded.
