PURPOSE:To prevent a microprocessor in a channel device from running beyond control by stopping the functions of the microprocessor when an error of a readout instruction code is detected. CONSTITUTION:Instructions from main processor 1 are transferred to microprocessor 6 provided in the channel device. Then, microprocessor 6 reads a group of instruction codes out of memory device 8 successively and exercises control. If an instruction code is read out of memory device 8 and its parity error is detected by detecting circuit 11, an error signal is outputted. On receiving this error signal, control circuit 9 closes both gate circuits 5 and 7 to stop the functions of processor 6. Therefore, the functions of channel device 3 are also stopped. Simultaneously, main processing unit 1 detects a fault of channel device 3 with the error signal. Thus, the microprocessor is prevented from running beyond control. |
