PURPOSE:To minimize the dust of an electrostatic recording head effectively with simple constitution by placing a projection member, provided in front of the head nearly in parallel to the scanning direction of the head and closely, more closely to a photosensitive surface than the front surface of the recording head. CONSTITUTION:Thin platelike member 11 made of an insulating member such as vinyl chloride is provided upright in front of optical fiber tube (OFT) in the moving direction of photosensitive layer 2. In this case, the gap between tip 11a of insulating member 11 and photosensitive layer 2 should be less than that between OFT projection flank 4 and photosensitive layer 2. When the copying machine of this constitution is used for a long time, residual toner is accumulated at tip 11a, but OFT projection flank 4 is held clean. Consequently, the dust protecting device of simple structure can prevent the contamination of the head effectively. |
