PURPOSE:To perform automatic/manual flaw detection accurately by providing a function generator in an ultrasonic flaw detector in flaw-detecting inspection of a building and the like. CONSTITUTION:The receiving circuit 1 receives as input ultrasonic echo waves Ri from a body to be inspected and supplies an output Ro to CRT, etc. A selector 6 is switched to the side of a contact point (a) when the input Ri is smaller than a nodal-point level H, while being switched to the side of a contact point (b) when the input Ri is larger than the level H. On the occasion that switching is made on the contact point (b), the input Ri is delivered through the intermediary of a delay device 3 and the function generator 4 so as for the output thereof not to be saturated.
