PURPOSE:To execute the access at a high speed against unequal access number of times, by easily optimizing the assignment of a physical address without changing the existing the service program of the CPU. CONSTITUTION:A correspondence table of the logical address provided by the CPU1 and the physical address on the magnetic disc unit 2 is stored in the conversion table 5 of the unit 2, the table 5 is indexed by the logical address provided by the CPU1, the corresponding physical address is derived by the converting circuit 3, and it is sent to the head control circuit 6. In this case, at every logidal address from the CPU1, the access frequency against it is counted by the counter 4, and the physical address is assigned in order from the logical address whose access frequency is high, which has been derived by the counter 4. And, as for the subsequent operation, the physical address can be assigned against unequal access frequency without changing the service program of the CPU1. |
