PURPOSE:To facilitate preparation, fitting and removal of a sample and thereby eliminate the difference in measured values due to personal error by supporting vertically a pair of containing bodies filled up with a liquefied or pulverized electroconductive substance with their opening parts upward, connecting one of the electroconductive substance of the containing body with the high voltage side of a power source and earthing the other. CONSTITUTION:The containing bodies 3a and 3b filled up with the electroconductive substance 1 such as mercury, water, copper powder, carbon powder or the like and fitted with lead wires 4a and 4b at the lower parts thereof are supported vertically in a supporting body 40 made of an insulative substance such as bakelite, holding an insulation spacer between them. A sample such as enamel wire, for instance, is folded at the center thereof, and intergwisted, and the ends 9a and 9b thereof are inserted, with insulation coating films being left thereon, into the electroconductive substance 1 through the opening parts 3a and 3b of the containing bodies 2a and 2b. Thereafter, the lead wire 4a is earthed, while supply voltage is impressed at the rate of 500V/S approx. on the lead wire 4b, and thereby dielectric breakdown voltage is measured. By this constitution, the preparation, fitting and removal of the sample is facilitated and the personal error in measured values can be eliminated. |
