Apparatus for pruning of tree growth, especially windbreaks, and of the type where a tractor-suspended implement with a hydraulically moveable arm 7 at its free end carries a rotating cutting element 1, for example, in the shape of a circular saw or a rotor equipped with beaters. The rotating cutting element 1 is driven by a hydraulic motor 4, which together with the cutting element constitutes a self-standing unit. This unit is detachably mounted in the bucket mount 6, 9 of a tractor- mounted ditch digger. The motor is driven via flexible pressure hoses 10 from the tractor's hydraulic power offtake. The cutting unit can be manoeuvred up and down by means of the ditch digger's hydraulic movement apparatus and from vertical to horizontal position by means of the ditch digger's bucket manoeuvring cylinder 8, so that the apparatus can trim both the sides and the top of windbreaks, for example, and perform clearing of trees. The apparatus can quickly be mounted and dismounted and is cheap to produce. <IMAGE>
