PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of a housing to decrease the weight of a booster, by providing a ring or disc of outside diameter equal to the inside diameter of a housing, therein, to transmit the reaction force of a master cylinder to the housing through the ring or disc. CONSTITUTION:A brake booster comprises a master cylinder 22, a housing 21 whose interior is divided into two chambers 39, 40 by a diaphragm piston 27 and a control valve 29 which is interlocked with a brake pedal and regulates the communication of the chambers 39, 40 etc. A ring 30 of outside diameter equal to the inside diameter of the body 24 of the housing 21 is fitted in the body 24. The ring 30 is provided with holes 31 for two mounting bolts, for example. The legs of the mounting bolts 32 inserted in the holes 31 are protruded on the rear of the body 24. The end of the protruded section of the mounting bolt 32 is inserted into a fitting hole provided in the flange 22a of the master cylinder 22. Nuts are tightened on the bolts 32 to couple the housing 21 and the master cylinder 22 together. |
