PURPOSE:To keep high resolution and to read in accurate color information, by locating the photosensor having a plurality of photodetectors according to one video element on the image forming plane of one direction orthogonal to the light axis of the projection optical system, and arranging a plurality of photodetectors toward different direction from the image forming direction. CONSTITUTION:A color reader consists of a line illumination light ray 28, anamophic optical system 26 which is a representative example of the optical system being astigmatism, slit plate 24 and color photosensor array 21, and it is movable relatively with the original plane. In a color photosensor 21, the sensor element having desired number of bits for resolution is arranged toward the width of original, (y) (main scanning direction), and three rows of photosensor arrays corresponding to three colors R, G, B are arranged toward the subscanning, (x) direction orthogonal to it, and each photosensor array is provided with a color filter. |
