PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of the efficiency of heat transfer, by detecting clogging of a filter with ease and reliability through provision of a detector at an air inlet port of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:At an air inlet port 4, there is provided a detector 9 for detecting clogging of a filter 7, which includes a light emitting element 9a and a light receiving element 9b disposed on the opposite sides of the filter. When the filter 7 causes clogging, the resistance of the light receiving element 9b is increased since the light emitted from the lement 9a is interrupted by dust and does not reach the lement 9b. This causes energization of a PUT and a SCR, so that a control means 13 is turned OFF through excitation of a relay 12 and operation of the air conditioner is stopped. Further, since clogging of filter 7 is alarmed through energization of a LED, it is prevented that the air conditioner is operated with the efficiency of heat transfer being kept low. |
