PURPOSE:To maximize the effect of uniformization of the strain and correcting action or the like for the shape of blank material, by installing an auxiliary roll facing against the rolling roll at its part contacting with the strip, in order to press the strip to the rolling roll, in a differential rolling mill for rolling a strip wound around the rolling rolls in S-shape. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary roll 7, for improving the contact condition between the strip 3 and the rolling roll 1, is installed so as to face against the rolling roll 1; a backup roll 8 is installed so as to back up the auxiliary roll 7. This backup roll 8 is permitted to move in the direction of breadth of the strip 3 and works in giving a local rolling work to the strip 3. The strip 3 is always pressed by the roll 7 to the roll 1, and a stable, positive contact condition is maintained between the strip 3 and the rolling roll 1; according to the necessity, the roll 8 is driven to control the shape of the strip 3 through the roll 7. By arranging a shape-controlling auxiliary roll 11 movable in the direction of breadth of the strip 3 so as to face against the rolling roll 2, it is possible to give a local rolling work to the strip 3 contacting with the roll 2. |
