PURPOSE:To perform a high-speed data transmission, by assigning transmission and receiving to the same transmission speed for telephone transmission and by using a bit length control circuit to assign transmission and receiving to the transmission speed according to the information volume of transmission and receiving, which the data terminal equipment requires, for data transmission. CONSTITUTION:Information of transmission and receiving consisting of transmission and receiving period bits concerning the prescribed 16-bit sampling period are assigned alternately on one subscriber line. The same transmission speed is assigned to transmission and receiving for telephone transmission within a range where the sum of transmission speeds in prescribed transmission and receiving directions concerning the subscriber line is constant 128kb/2, and information transmission is performed. In respect to data transmission, for receiving, control circuit CONT switches switching circuit TR and transfers the speed designation code to bit length control circuit BLCNT. Circuit BLCNT controls period signal extracting circuit SYC to assign the transmission speed to transmission and receiving according to the information volume of transmission and receiving which the data terminal equipment requires, and information transmission is performed. As a result, a high-speed data transmission is realized. |
