PURPOSE:To make it possible to apply ultrasonic flaw detection to a test material having a curved surface, by fitting a shoe made of synthetic resin, having a contact surface formed on the curved surface which corresponds to the curved flaw detection surface of the test material, to the front surface of a vibrator through interposing a contact medium. CONSTITUTION:Vibrator 5 is installed in probe body 1 via damper 6 and is connected plug 2 by a lead wire and then connected to a pulse oscillator and receiver. On the front surface of vibrator 5, shoe 4 made of synthetic resin is fixed. The flange part of shoe 4 is fixed by probe body 1 and screw cylinder 3. Contact surface 8 of shoe 4 is curved with the same curvature as flaw detection surface D of test material A. Flaw detection surface D and shoe 4 are coated with contact medium 7 and the probe is allowed to contact, so that ultrasonic wave pulses emitted by vibrator 5 are inputted to the test material. Some of the inputted ultrasonic wave pulses are reflected by bead crack C and received by vibrator 5 via shoe 4 and contact medium 7 to be reflected on a cathode-ray tube. |
