<p>The automatic web working machine has the web (6) fed across a working surface (2) with the tool (5) supported by a carriage (4) running along a rail (3) extending across the width of the web (6). The latter is fed between two rollers (9,10) lying outside the working surface (2) with a detector monitoring the displacement of the web (6) relative to the rail (3) mounted on the carriage (4) and acting directly between the rail (3) and the web. The rail (3) is also movable along the length of the web (6) over the working surface (2) under control of the web displacement with the traction to the web (6) released when the rail (3) reaches a required position, to provide nominal positioning of the web. A security margin is incorporated to ensure that the stopping line for the web (6) in line with the vertical of the rail (3) is within the operative zone for the rail (3).</p> |
