The plasterer's trowel is used to skim masked joints between plasterboard panels (2), having an approximately rectangular metal blade (6) with a handle (7) projecting from a major face. The active long edge is nominally concave (8), specifically having symmetrical shallow trapezoidal channel (12,10,12) profile. The trapezoidal cut out stops short of the two lesser blade edges, leaving two shoulders (9) of equal length. The offset of the channel invert (10) from the parallel side of the enveloping rectangle may exceed the thickness of a masking strip (5). When used the tool forms thin plaster fillets (F) on each side of strip bonded over a joint between chamfered (3) panel edges. |
