摘要 <p>The sensor has an E-shaped iron core (1) with the short-circuit ring (7) surrounding one limb (4) and moving along it to vary the inductance of a coil (6) wound around the core (1) in dependence on the position of the monitored element. The characteristic relationship between the incremental inductance and the variation in the position of the short-circuit ring is influenced by a metal casing (8) partially enclosing the core (1) and/or the coil (6), or by a secondary coil coupled across a variable resistor. The metal casing (8) or the secondary coil is used to correct the characteristic to obtain a linear relationship. The correction of the characteristic allows the mfg. tolerances for the short-circuit ring (7) to be eased.</p>
