The tin-opener has the knife and the driving wheel mounted on two levers hinging separately on a common axis pin (5). This pin slides in a slot (6) in one of the levers (4), so that the two levers (3,4) can slide in relation to each other, bringing the tip of the knife (1) in the working position slightly in front of the axis of the wheel (2). A cam ensures that when the levers are moved apart the knife tip is roughly opposite the wheel centre (02). The cam can be formed by a hole of L-shape cut out of the knife lever, in which the wheel axis pin fits.
|
