PURPOSE:To prevent printing from becoming irregular due to changes in the traveling speed of a carriage, based on changes in driving characteristics of motors, changes in load, dispersion of driving characteristics of the motors, etc. CONSTITUTION:A measuring circuit 22 measures the time required for traveling the carriage by a predetermined distance. A control circuit 23 is provided which compares the traveling time measured by the measuring circuit 22 with a reference time to obtain the difference therebetween and controls a dot timing signal SG2 fed from a timing-signal generating circuit 25. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the printed dots from becoming irregular due to the changes in the traveling speed of the carriage. |
