<p>A rectangular ceramic substrate (1) has narrow conductors deposited on it by metallisation under vacuum. The conductors surround holes around which fractures are most likely. The ends of the conductors are enlarged to permit contact by test points of a continuity tester. The substrate slides into slots (11,12) in the sides of a U-shaped support (10) to support it while continuity tests are performed. When an elongated inflatable bladder (13) in the support is inflated to a calibrated pressure, a torsional force is applied to the substrate while measurements are made. The electrical continuity test of it can be effected at the final moment, before the appts. is shut by rendering their contact accessible in that state. However, it is pref. that the testing be effected during the assembly operation.</p> |
