Cyclopropane-carboxylic acid alkynyl ester(s) - acaricides, insecticides and ovicides esp. against e.g. spodoptera litoralis in cotton and leptinotarsa decemlineata in vegetable crops

Cyclopropane carboxylic acid alkinyl esters of formula (I) are new. In (I) R1 is opt. substd. naphthyl, biphenyl, furyl, imidazolyl, pyridyl, pyrazinyl, pyridazinyl, pyrimidyl or triazinyl; R2 is H, 1-6C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, or Ph or naphthyl, these last 2 gps. opt. substd. with 1-2C alkyl, 1-2C alkoxy or halogen; R3 is H, 1-6C alkyl or 2-6C alkenyl. (I) are pesticides with improved acaricidal and insecticidal properties and esp. with improved ovicidal properties against mites and insects. (I) are esp. effective against insects which damage plants by eating them, esp. cotton crops (e.g. against Spodoptera littoralis and Heliolithis virescens) and vegetable crops (e.g. against Leptinotarsa decemlineata). If eaten by adult insects (I) reduce egg yields and/or lubrication rates, esp. in Coleoptera e.g. Anthonomus grandis. (I) are also very effective against flies e.g. Musca domestica and midge larvae.
