The missile has one or more canard surfaces for control purposes. There is a stabiliser or tailplane installed aft of the canard surfaces. The wingspan of the stabiliser is appreciably less than that of the canard surfaces. The design allows light-weight and low resistance to be combined with great ease of control. The stabiliser surfaces are fixed, while the canard surfaces move for control by direct lift and change of attitude.
