PURPOSE:To make the conductive film of a carbon-zinc combined electrode thin, and enhance the conductivity of the film, by using a given graphite for the film. CONSTITUTION:A conductive film 1 is affixed to a zinc plate 2 by the use of an adhesive such as a nitrile-rubber system compound, a carbon-zinc combined electrode being made. A positive electrode 3 is placed over the combined electrode with a separator interposed between the electrode 3 and the combined electrode, before these three are wrapped in a resin tube 5, a cell being prepared. After that, an appropriate number of these cells are laminated, thus an assembled battery being constituted. Either a part or all of the conductive agent of the conductive film 1 consists of an expanded graphite, which is prepared by expanding the spaces between layers of carbon nets of a graphite. For instance, a graphite is treated with an oxidizing agent such as sparkling nitric acid or perchloric acid to make a compound to be produced in the spaces between the layers of the carbon nets of the graphite. Following that, the treated graphite is washed -it may be used without washing- and it undergoes heat treatment at 350 deg.C to make the compound produced to be vaporized, thus an expanded graphite being obtained. Consequently, a thin conductive film with high conductivity can be obtained. |
